Real LA Life
Los Angeles. La La Land. City of Angels. Hollywood. Tinseltown. These are all common names for LA. No matter who you are, where you live, or how old you are, you most likely wondered what it's like to live in Los Angeles at one time or another. You probably have a very distinct idea in your head of what you think Los Angeles is like. For most people it's red carpets, paparazzi, Hollywood and movie stars. That is what every television show, movie and music video has trained you to think. But it's not real. Have you ever seen "The Hills" or "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"? Yeah, it's not like that. Wanna pay an outrageous amount of money for a crappy apartment? I do. Wanna work 3 jobs, 60+ hours a week and still barely manage pay all your bills? Welcome to my world. Glamorous, huh? Don't get me wrong, LA can be so incredible. I would never live here if I didn't love it so much. I've had some amazing experiences living here. I've done things that I only dreamed of doing and never thought was possible. Does sneaking your way into the music video shoot of your favorite band and ending up on camera sound like fun? Or how about being in a movie Clint Eastwood directed? I've done both those things. Oh and one night I was at work and I bent down to tie my shoelace and when I stood up Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were staring at me. Then they smiled and started talking to me. I wanted to cry out of pure joy. I'm here to show you what it's REALLY like to live in Los Angeles. The Good. The Bad. The Ugly. The Wonderful. The Weirdness. And most importantly: The Reality.
People often tell me the thing they like the most about me is that I keep it real. I say exactly what's on my mind, I go for what I want and I don't take myself too seriously. I have a weird sense of humor and I say a lot of stupid things because I think it's funny, even if it's not. I don't mean half the things that come out of my mouth. (See the "SAY WHAT?" section and you will understand.) Living in LA for the past year and a half has been crazy but moving here was the best decision I ever made. I've experienced a lot living here and it finally dawned on me that I should show the world what it's really like to live in this town. I'm not famous, rich or successful. I'm 27 years old and I live in a studio apartment, or as I like to call it, a giant box in Hollywood. To be completely honest, I'm still not sure what I want to do with my life, but I'm starting to think it may have something to do with this website. So in the meantime I'm going to show you this city from my point of view and share weird and funny stories that have happened along the way. Like the time I met my Australian Dream Man (see the Happy Hour page), or the time I went to a gay bar and saw my very first Drag Show (in the Hot Spots section.) Memories and images that I shall never forget, as they are burned into my mind. And for the music video crashing story, check out the LA Life section, which is my personal favorite, as you will find some of my more awkward and slightly embarrassing stories there. I am like everyone else trying to figure out this crazy thing called life. Except for I'm doing it in one of the most insane and exciting cities in the world...and I'm Colleen. Follow me and I'll show you the Real LA Life.

Anyone who knows me will tell you I appreciate a good boy band. Always have, always will. So I decide to take Harry Styles, er, umm, cardboard cutout Harry Styles on a date in LA to show him the real Los Angeles that I love.
For those who know me, know I have a weird obsession with my John Mayer cardboard cutout. Find out what happens when I take him to Hollywood Walk of Fame, which just so happens to be the busiest place in Hollywood. This also gives you a glimpse of what actually goes on in Hollyweird.
